We would like to remind you that riding your bicycle in summer is cool, but getting a ticket for not having a helmet while riding your bike is not. Plus, it makes sense to take care of that grey matter between your ears. If you are looking for a good helmet, we probably have one at a good price and it makes sense to keep your head safe since you’re probably using it a lot more than you think. Like a Phoenix from the ashes, 2nd Base is Back!!! I think one of the biggest losses on Capital Hill over the years is the loss of 2nd Base some years ago, around the same time that REI was replaced by Value Village. Looking at their old facilities, I never thought they’d be able to find a store as cool as their old one, well I was wrong!!

Get Out There!

There are probably no more beautiful spots in the world than the great Pacific Northwest and Washington State in the summer. I was talking to an old timer who told me that you could just explore Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia and be a “happy camper.” No need to go anywhere else, he said. 

I agree. Camping is great family activity. And, 2nd Base can help. We have a great selection of tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, camp stoves, and lanterns—all at reasonable prices. It’s a great way to get started in this activity. 

I just returned from Lopez’ Island in the San Juans. I stayed at Odlin Park. It’s stunning. Right on the water, it’s a small campground filled with friendly people. 

Grab the kids, girlfriends, boyfriends, all friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and pets! Go camping!

We’ve Expanded!

2nd Base has expanded. Yup, we have torn down the wall and added 1000 square feet for even more inventory. With this expansion, we’re able to add a bigger selection of snowboards, skiis, snow shoes, clothes, and boots. The UW students have discovered the store, as well as SPU and SU students. The fall has arrived and 2nd Base has all the sports inventory for the new sports seasons. We are here 7 days a week, buying and selling sports gear all day long.
